I just saw the video on local news here. I didn't see any sea spiders (pycnogonids) either, just the crinoids. Hmmm. Maybe we should apply to be marine biological consultants for CNN.

I've been revisiting both CNN and FoxNews sites all day to see if either one corrects themselves. No luck.

Usually this gets fixed within a couple hours. All the competent journalists must be off covering caucuses.

They did look like Albino Swimmers! I was amazed at the horrible sound of the sled smashing through all the sea life, and for what reason? Like most "News stories" almost no truth what so ever!

I think they were shooting video and huntin' edible sea scallops for a cookout later!

btw - I agree. There are other ways of getting video without tearing up the bottom with a sled, or dredge-like device.

The purpose of a benthic sled is not to capture video. Most sleds don't even have this capability. The purpose of the sled is to capture organisms in a semi-quantitative manner. And no, there isn't a better way.

Yes there is! I don't want to see my Big Mac being made either! Don't release the video if you don't want criticism from an unknowing public! I don't want to see a lot of fact of life, but in a PC world that kind of video sets everyone back! I would think there are better ways, just not cheaper ways!
