Thanks! This is a huge site. I should have looked harder!

Only slightly off topic- I have 3 dive watches, and none fit over the sleeve on a 7mm wetsuit without it hitting the last hole in the band (and I don't have Popeye arms either). If these are indeed dive watches, why are the bands so stinking short? So for those of you who have favorites- did you have to replace the stoock band for fit? (I know some people change bands for other reasons- not interested in those).

I have been diving with a Seiko Quartz Divers 200m since 1994 with no problems - Battery change and pressure test once a year - great watch. Compare with the Citizen Quartz Promaster I purchased as a backup computer on my overseas/interstate trips. It worked properly for one year and then routinely failed for the next five. The Citizen people in Sydney could not repair it properly(Their solution was to replace the battery at cost $80) and I have since given up diving with it, essentially because I have no confidence in its reliability. Would I buy another Citizen - I dont think so.

the Seiko Monster has a divers extension in the bracelet for just this - it unfolds to give you the extra length. In fact this is a feature on a lot of Seiko divers with stock bracelets...

an alternative is to get the maratac "nitrox band" that is orange and 16-1/2" long for about $30. its the same color and look as my maratac nato that I have on my monster - you can see it in my earlier post. the nitrox is just longer and has the maratac zulu type hardware - ie little thicker & rounded.

hope this helps.

I actually have both these bands. The Seiko is too tight extended when right for my wrist with no wetsuit, and too loose on the naked arm when adjusted for wetsuit wearing. I guess I just need to move where I can wear a 3 mil or less all the time! and the triple loop never lose a watch bands are great if not over engineered. And damn inconvenient when you get up on the boat and nature calls. Takes too long to unstrap those things!

But my point still is: shouldn't "dive watches" fit your arm and also over wetsuits on the standard band?

I have a St Mortiz Momentum. I have been diving it for the past 4 years with no problems. It has only been through one battery. Rated up to 660 ft. Not bad for the price.

I flooded mine last week. Can't decide which is more cost effective, repair or replacement. After spending a bunch of $$ on a new rubber strap, and a brand new stainless steel bracelet that never got put on it. :shakehead:

come on now - taking the watch off with a nitrox wont take that long if you need to go to the bathroom...maybe you need some of that "flomax" medicine if its that urgent...lol - just kidding. I have no other help except maybe a casio frogman or mudman (my fav)... but i dont know if the strap is long enough for you on those...
