great dives with Island Divers Hawaii today!
well.. with 30 kt winds this morning.. it was too rough for personal watercraft
so.. we decided to hop on IDH's 50 foot "Sea Fox" for a day off Hawai Kai.
first dive was my first time on LCU EAST
awesome wreck.. an upside-down LCU.. allows tons of shelter for lots-o-critters..
right off the bat.. we saw a cool White-tip Reef Shark underneath the deck..
Kevin says it was 6 feet long.. here's a video..

then Emily was hoot'n and a hollar'n about somethin' in the pilot-house..
she made the signal for, "it was thiiiiiiiiiis big"..
and i made the sign, "W" (for "whatever")
so.. i peek into the pilot-house to see what all the fuss was about..
OMG! :11:
a GIANT TREVALLY.. well over 5 feet long and 200 lbs.. biggest i've ever seen!
after doing a lap around the LCU.. we start our safety-stops..
i just finished my 50% stop.. when Emily's makin' weird noises and more funny sea-signs..
okay.. again.. somethin' big?.. and moves like a dolphin?
hmmm..
when i finally got visual.. it was a good sized Monk Seal that was skimming along the surface..
as it approached Kevin.. the Seal darted for the deck of the LCU and toward me
it got close enough for me to read the bleach-tag just forward of its hind flippers..
tag # "N11".. seen at 10 am.. here's another video..

what a dive!
second dive on Anglers Reef presented us even more creatures..
we saw tons of Eels, 4 Slipper Lobsters, a bright yellow baby Frogfish, a giant Triton Trumpet which came out to play, juvi Devil Scorpionfish, and a rather large red Leaf Scorpionfish..
here's the rest of the slideshow..
