Will be there in a few weeks...let me know which restaurants you would recommend. Playa recommendations would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

La CoCay, always great....

Guido's (pronounced Gee-do, like Speedo) is a few blocks north of the central plaza on the main waterfront road. Great Italian food and pizza. Each time I am there, I visit twice.

We like El Moro because it's off the beaten path, has good food, great people who work there, and quite the interesting decor. We like Camillo's for the shrimp tacos. We like Pancho's Backyard for the margaritas and the appetizers, but it tends to be on the more expensive side. Casa Denis also had good shrimp tacos. Prima is good for seafood and Italian food.

I actually need to go in and do an update on my restaurant list. There are some new places and even a couple that are no longer open (Coco's for example).

In no particular order, some of my favorites are:

Le Chef
Sorissi (new Italian/pizza/gelato place)
Guido's
La Cocay
Prima
La Choza
Chi
Wynston's
El Moro
Conchita del Caribe
Tonita
Camilos
Mission on 30th
Caletita (great new place for fish/shrimp tacos down near Caribe Blu)

La Mission on 30th......is by far the best Mexican food at the best price.

Adding a few of mine:

Sonora Grill
La Perlita
La Veranda
Pancho's Backyard
La Morena
El Capi Navigante
Chen Rio (on the east side of the island)
Especias
Lobster House (if it's still there after Wilma)
Palmeras (don't let the Denny's style menu scare you away)
Los Gavilanes

Yep, I couldn't possibly name ALL of the good places without forgetting some...and the list keeps growing!

The only place on your list that I could not personally recommend with a clear conscience (based on MY knowledge, tastes & past experiences there) is Las Palmeras. Possibly the biggest tourist trap on the island. Make sure you check your bill carefully.

Los Gavilanes has been closed for awhile.
