So I read the OP and the rest of the thread. Are you complaining about edits in the Surface Interval or the whole board? From the OP is sounds like you are upset with how the whole board is being moderated, but in later pages everyone is talking about the opt in areas.

Creativity dude. Meet me off the board and you'll wonder if I am the same person that posts on this board at times. I believe there are some who have had to bleach their minds eye after consuming BEvERages with me from the visuals from comments I'd spouted out verbally But on the board, a different etiquette exists.

While I have been following this thread, and am glad that people are speaking freely. It should be clear that hijacking this thread only serves to validate those who say that areas like the surface interval are a waste. I have long been a supporter of the surface interval, and have been a MOF member since the original MOF thread over 2 years ago. I was a strong supporter of creating the surface interval in the first place.

While I have always been pro-free speech, I do agree that hijacking of serious threads only does a dis-service to SB as a whole. Those of you whom have been hijacking this thread in particular, I implore you to consider how this makes our case look to those who are making decisions about the future of ScubaBoard.

This is the first serious thread in the feedback forum, and while its nice to see that many are defending ScubaBoard and its policies, I think its important for others who are in charge of setting policy to see what people really think.

I think SB does a great job in how threads are moderated - there is a difficult trade-off between letting everyone say what they want and preserving this as a place where everyone can come and not be intimidated with the politics, religion and flame wars that always ensue from unfettered conversation on contentious topics.

For all those that advocate using the Surface Interval forum - discussions, views and emotions won't remain there and get turned off as soon as someone switches and posts in another thread.

If I've just had a slanging match with some (to me) idiot then and he posts on a "scuba thread" then it is much harder to engage constructively elsewhere. I don't believe this is confined to me, I think it is a general human trait and those that can play the ball rather than the man in these circumstances are outnumbered by those that can't.

So my vote goes to keeping SB more focussed on diving - not less. And as for those you want bikini threads - grow up and find somewhere else on the net to ogle... It's hardly like there is a shortage of material on the net without bringing it to SB.

I wonder how many of those who want to ogle here are posting on SB at an office that has many sites with bikini models blocked?
