KISS AD BIGGER!!!

I guess you could have some kind of a rating system folks could use so that when somebody makes a stupid post, you can give 'em the thumbs down, or thumbs up, if you like that kind of thing.

One other thing, how can you tell if you are on someone's ignore list? Sometimes, I feel like it's just me out here....

First, I do love SB. The only things I can think of for improvement would be some way to see if I have any posts in my subscribed threads, without going to that page.

My usage of SB looks like this:

1. hit the main page
2. click enter forums
3. use pull-down to see any activity in subscribed threads
4. use pulldown to see active threads for the current day

anyway to let me skip #3 if there's nothing new in those threads?

Just a thought...

El some may not want to voice opinion here; I suppose they can PM you direct in any such case. Hell, if they want complete anonymity, they could PM me - I'll remove the name and forward.

Very good idea keeping the staff out of this one. Wonderful Mod staff that you have, it does inhibit things - seen it before.

While staff is trying not to post in this thread, I will reply to this by saying that we are trying to implement a patch that will allow for anonymous postings within this thread.

In the mean time, people can e-mail support@scubaboard.com and ask El Orans to re-post your e-mails (obviously without e-mail address or your name)

We are anxious to hear what kind of feedback our users can give.

Thanks :)

Just so you know... :)

This thread was not started in order to debate the pros & cons of SB with our members. In order to ensure that the thoughts & ideas of all of you are accorded the respect & consideration that they deserve, all staff members are asked not to post in this thread.

Just PM the poster off thread!

Try UserCP, bookmark it and always come in there. You'll see your threads with new posts.

Then subscribe to your favorite forums so they'll aways be on UserCP.

Anonymous:
The concept is good and I will visit your sponsors, but I constantly have problems with the forums and other areas of the site stopping when loading.

This may be due to a problem with (some of?) your ads. I have seen this on sites with ad units (see below for an idea for a solution).

The only workaround I have found on the client end is to keep refreshing, which doesn't do any good for your servers.

Good luck.

Solution ideas:

1. use a test server to figure out which ads are not serving consistently and disable them until they are fixed.

2. change your code so that it fills the HTML first and then goes back for the images with JS.

^ If you do implement number 2 - you also get the benefit of being able to switch your ads - say after a minute or 2. This can have a very positive effect on your impression rate.

I give ya'll an A.

El Orans, you have done a great job staying positive, fun and constructive, IMO. I cannot imagine how much work this must be. It seems things are running better than ever, to me.

I'm finding it difficult to get around. My last message (thread?) says I have 9 replies but I can't access them. How do I? Also, what ids the difference between a message and a thread. I would be helpful to have aQ and A on the subject of how to post a message or thread.
