Hey all. Well here's the thing....I've kindly been bought a Tigullio BCD for Christmas (you can see it here http://www.tigullio52.com/t52/ita/prodotti/hover/hover.html)

This is a Hybrid as others have commented - surprised this was not explined to you.

I am considerring getting one ... the worry is the number of reports about the poor integrated weight release system.
This was pointed out in reviews in both main UK dive mags and in many on-line forums - here are a few of the comments -

Diver Magazine Review - (John Bantin)
Integrated-weight pockets, secured by slabs of Velcro, are an optional extra, on either side at the front. This is where I see improvements being made in the future. Many other BC manufacturers are now adopting ways of making integrated weights more secure, with quick-release buckles and the like.
Otherwise, the T52 lacks for nothing

Dive magazine - (Charles Hood)
The weight-ditching mechanism lets this jacket down. It's on an elastic Velcro 'thingy', which sprang back and gave my thumb a thwack the first time I tried to use it.
A great combination of wing and BC, but don't even think about adding weight to it.

I have found mine both comfortable and rugged. Must agree about the velcro though, bit of a bugger when brand new to use so I still use a belt with some weight in the "trim" pockets at the rear, this also has the affect of counterbalancing the "surface lean".

One thing which is annoying and basically crap is the integrated weights. Velcro is used either side of a tab and it just cant be considered quick release. In fact its damn hard to get them to release from pulling on the plastic handles. Very poor and in complete contrast to the rest of the jacket.

I have tried the integrated weights that are secured with velcro & unless its a "woman thing" i find them difficult 2 use, good BCD but don't use the integrated weight - it's pants.

Be interested how you get on with it, let us know.

hey thanks. i still haven't had a chance to use it - but soon i hope. about the weights - it's lucky cos i wouldn't even think about using an intergrated weight system yet. I'm too used to belts.

I own a T52 hover and I love it.

Its true though the Weight Integrated really needs to be upgraded. Its not impossible but it is difficult to ditch the weights in a time of need. Other than that, the only thing it lacks is more D-rings on the bottom of the BC (Attaching a stage bottle).

If you wear a belt you can always bring it back and get the T-52 Hover Tech version, it has a smaller bladder and is not a hybrid like the hover is. Is strictly a back inflate.

I love this BC.

Let me know if you have any questions.

An update I bought one of these last year ... now done around 50 dives with it, and been very pleased with it ... it's comfortable, and teh integarted weights are good to use even if damn fiddly to fit.

I just completed a week in Scapa Flow diving the WWI German Fleet, and had the BCD with a 15L steel and 3L pony set up (used pony twinning bands)
Trim pockest allowed me to get balance right
It performed excellently .... so more than happy with the purchase.
