Yes, I have dived my DH regs without any BC but would be interested in a listing of BCDs that are compatible with a DH reg. Single and double tank configurations.

What are you using?

Thanks,

Phil

Pretty much any donut-type BIU with a VDH-type backplate and standard straps works well as long as the DH cans fit snug against your back and between your shoulder blades. Stick the top of the BIU between the cans and the tank. Horsecollar BC's of course but those, IMHO, suck. 😁 I have not found any jacket-style or other type that permits a DH to be positioned correctly for optimal breathing. My 2psi. Good luck!

I've also used an old style zeagle... Basically a soft plate.

I have a VDH plate and am conversant with correct can placement. The placement of inflator attachment and or the thickness of the wing material at the neck is the issue. Either too thick material or inflator interference is a no-go between the can and diver. I dived HC for years and like them, but finding one today that I can trust is a crap shoot. My 2psi; the Brits called the HCs "ABLJ" Adjustable Buoyancy Lifejackets for a reason, they are the only BC that when inflated at the surface will kept your face/airway above water when diver is inert....

So any brands/models you folks have used and would recommend for my purposes?

Thanks for any and all input.

Phil

Thanks, remember the Zeagle model?
The 2 I have are old enough they were store brand re-labels, lol. I also have a template for a backplate I cut from a plastic cutting board that does well with a wing and basic harness.

Thanks James.....will stick with VDH plate...too bad my XDeep wings will not work...search goes on....wing is the weak link right now.
