I havent't done a dive report here for sometime. Today unfortunately is more of a conditions report, since I did not dive today. I was at the bridge three times this week, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Managed to get a dive on Thursday. Friday and Sunday(today) the water was disgusting. Please watch the video for further details. Interesting enough, after shooting the video, when I was driving back over the bridge I could tell by the water color that the incoming tide was making the water more disgusting than the water already in the intercoastal. Hopefully things will start to clear up soon. At least no more rain for a while.

" yes I have the permit for night diving at BHB"

Wow. Do you also have the permit to stop trains at railroad X-ings?

We tried to Dive the bridge on Saturday and the water looked like Guiness Stout, so on our drive home we swung by LBTS and the swell was mellow so we paddled out put literally was no viz oh well next time!

Some of the bigger waves at LBTS were over my head a week or so ago, I dusted off my boogie board and had an ok day.

Hoping for improved diving conditions soon. I walk by there every few days and a few people are always trying to dive...

I got in my first BHB dive of 2025 today!

2 hrs, 83 F, 1-5’ viz with LOTS of suspended particulate. Good thing I was diving solo because it was pretty much impossible to stay with another diver due to the low viz. Even though the viz was poor, it was a nice, slow, relaxing dive with lots of compass practice. Made me thankful for all of my dives early in my diving life in Midwest quarries with 5’ viz.

Had a snook following me for a good 30 min, which was cool! I’ve had them do that on night dives, but that’s the first time I’ve ever had them do it on a day dive. This one seemed to be following my light, which is what I’ve had them do at night before. Also saw intracoastal species I rarely see on the reefs such as sheepshead & yellow spotted stingray. Followed a hunting spotted moray for a bit at the end of my dive. Lots of feeding fish action at slack tide on the eastern end of the snorkel trail.

The surface winds were so strong that after I turned the dive and started heading back west it was almost like a drift dive. I just let the flag pull me along!

After 40 days dry, it was so nice to be blowing bubbles again!

Addition: Ran into @Pipehorse. He decided not to dive and I absolutely didn’t blame him. If I still lived on the East Coast and could hit the bridge regularly, I wouldn’t have dived either. But since I’ve been dry for 40 days and live over on the other coast now, I didn’t wanna miss the opportunity to dive the bridge.

There's a spot within a mile of there that I've dove with a school of approximately 80 snook, most of which were over-slot sized. They seemed to have little interest in my presence.

It's been a brutal October, glad you got to dive!!

Went to the bridge for diving today, but did not go diving. Met @Divin'Papaw who followed through with his intention of diving despite the visibility. Watch the video below for a full run down.

I got a dive in at the Bridge on Thursday. Much needed. Family member passing has had me running up north couple times. Which was good timing considering the conditions have been sucky.
Got a 201 minute dive, with 15ft vis.
Now to wait for the next clear day... not this weekend..

Quick post as I’m heading back home. Viz was better today. Varied from 5 to 10 feet. Water is still 83F. Did a 2h5m dive today. There were quite a few classes there getting caught up on their courses. It also turned out to be a pretty day, and the beach was pretty crowded when I ended my dive.
