Has anyone used a dive op in Langkawi recently in the past year.

I'll probably be there sometime in December 2025.

Cheers and thanks in advance.

I last dived Pulau Payer near Langkawi back in the 90s, poor vis but honestly better than what I get off Dubai.

Koh Lipe is definitely on my radar too.

I'll be there in Feb, 2027 so I'm interested as well.
Ramadan in 2027 is in Feb.
I had spent a few days in Langkawi during Ramadan this year and it was awful to find places to serve food in the morning and afternoon. I had to walk 20 mins to the pier to find one place serving breakfast otherwise it was bread/cake from the local 7/11.
I had experienced the same at Tioman Island during Ramadan.
Make sure your hotel/resort serving food during your stay.
You can always escape to Koh Lipe which is only 2hrs away.

Wow I hadn’t thought about Ramadan. Thanks. We’re actually sailing from Phuket to Langkawi late Feb, so planned to spend a week or so after landing in Langkawi traveling through Malaysia ending up in Singapore for a few days. We may need to rethink.

@ACHiPo
There were a lot foreign tourists on the ferry from Koh Lipe to Langkawi.
I was staying at Kuah which is the capital of Langkawi and there was one Chinese Restaurant opened for lunch. There was a Middle East restaurant opened in the evening.
The night market is completely different story but you have to wait!!!!
I took the ferry from Kuah Jetty to Kuala Perlis in the morning and had the same issue with food. Caught the bus to Penang on following morning. The infidels can gorge themselves with whatever they fancy on that Island.
Langkawi was quiet during Ramadan so you might be able to find some good deals but just make sure food is not limited in the evening.

Catch a bus from Phuket Bus Terminal 2 to Surat Thani(4hrs) a charming little town with amazing food.

Catch the International Train #45(sleeper to Padeng Besar), walk over to the other side and catch the Komuter Train to Butterworth and ferry to George Town in Penang.
Stop over at Hat Yai and then proceed the journey.

I had forgotten about Ramadan being an issue. Nowadays in the UAE, especially Dubai, most food outlets are open except in Fujairah.

Ramadan next year is 17 Feb - 18 Mar, and that coincides with Chinese New Year too. As I'll be moving to Penang shortly, I might just spend that 30 days in Tulamben or the Philippines.

I would imagine most Chinese restaurants will be closed for few days in Malaysia during Lunar New Year rather than 1 month(no breakfast or lunch being served)!!
No hot food for breakfast in Tioman and required a walk under the sun for 20mins(2km) to buy cold lunch box!!!!! LOL. I can laugh now!!
Diving season in Koh Lanta and Koh Lipe is now until mid May. Feb - Mar is really good times to explore both Islands.

Ramadan has NO effect in Penang for most residents. I was there during Ramadan this year and did not have any problem getting food in the morning or lunch. I am pretty sure the Indian restaurants in Penang will be opened during the Lunar New Year.

Love Penang! Good to know it’s still an option.
