Greetings, fellow divers,

Who's diving next week in or near the Kansas City airport, Lenexa; Rogersville, MO areas between October 14 and 19? I should be flying into KC airport around October 14, flying out around October 20. What are some good dive sites in these areas? Good LDSs, preferably that fill EAN40 and rent gear? I'll only be bringing my 7mm wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, booties, hood, gloves, light, DSMB, etc. Thanks in advance.

Clear vis for miles ;)

Look up The Dive Shop in Lenexa, normally open Wed-Sunday, so you may want to call them prior to the 14th.

Most of the locals end up down at Beaver Lake, you may want to inquire on Temps. Mid Oct may be pushing it.

OK, Rogersville and Lenexa are a LONG ways apart from each other - 3 or more hour drive.

I cannot speak the Lenexa area but Rogersville, MO is just east of Springfield, MO. There are two local dive shops in Springfield that are both good - Diventures and Diver's Oasis. Both bank 32% nitrox but I'm not sure about 40%. Closest dive location is Table Rock Lake. This time of the year, visibility above the thermocline is garbage. Below is nice. The lake is about 1 hour from Springfield/Rogersville area.

Since you're not familiar with the lake, I'd check White River dive shop or Indian Point Dive shop as both do inexpensive charters on the lake (100-120 for 2 tank). They know the decent sites. There are a few wrecks, some cool geological formations, and the forests are still there from when the lake was flooded.

AKA Diving LLC and White River Dive Company | Scuba Diving & Spearfishing Branson Mo | 5665 State Hwy 165 suite 400, Branson, MO, USA are their sites.

If you have time, Beaver Lake Arkansas is about 2 hours drive from Springfield and has a dive park. There's a shop there that banks 32 and 36% and probably do the 40. Beaver Dam Dive Shop & Resort | Beaver Lake | Eureka Springs, AR.

I'd offer to meet and dive with you but I'm out of the water till after a hip replacement next month. Any of those shops will be helpful with finding a dive buddy.
