Hello all

I would love to get certified in full face and purchase one for special dives we have coming up + record some video with me talking. I would love advice on people who have these masks + recorders to know what the best options are and any foibles associated with it.

Any input is greatly appreciated (Yes... I have asked ChatGpt)

Unless you want to synchronize the voice with the video afterwards, you'll need to to put the video mic inside the mask. Most full face masks have an option for installing audio equipment.

Ill sync it after the fact, so was thinking a DJI mic, or something purpose made to record on my body.

I don't think that would work. You'll need a specific in mask audio set up. DJI mic would be both too big to fit in the mask and not at all water proof. Having said that, I am working on basically an underwater shotgun with a Marelux hydrophone, a rode wirelessPro and a waterproof housing from Dryfob. I've done in water tests of the housing after drilling a giant hole in the bottom of it for the hydrophone cable, but haven't dove with the whole set up yet. That is a this week plan. But it would be garbage for open circuit as it would just pick up bubble noises.

Go talk to the dive team people at the nearest aquarium, good chance they have full face coms figured out already and can put you in touch with local techs and suppliers.
