Hi Everyone,

Well, I've got a Viper 2 and the boot has disintegrated! It's my spare computer, but would like to put a boot back on it.

I've looked online but can't seem to find one for sale. Can anyone help?
I believe the part number is as follows: VYPER 2 BOOT - 100013138

Thanks for reading this.
Regards,
Paul

If it has spring bar pins for a watch strap, you can use it with a NATO strap rather than a boot, that's what I did with my Oceanic VT3 when the boot disintegrated.

Hiya and thanks for the reply. There's no issue with the straps at all and the dive compute can still be worn. It's just that whereas the computer is designed to be shrouded in a rubber boot, it's now exposed. Some pictures to demonstrate as follows. If anyone can help, I'd love to hear from you.

It is slightly different size than the Vyper Novo. A boot for a Vyper Air or HelO2 will work with your Vyper2.

My eldest daughter's computer is a Vyper2 and we all use bungee mounts, so I might have the original boot that came with it....give me a day or so to check as I have to figure out which bin it would be in.

You could always 3D print your own, like the attached. There are so many companies out there where you just upload a drawing file, often .stl or .cad, and have them print it for you. The cost rarely exceeds 10$ for such a small part, which makes it probably cheaper than an original boot.

Local libraries are a good source to check if they do 3d printing. The one in our town charges 7 cents per gram of filament, and usually takes only a couple of days to do the print after sending them the necessary file(s).

Just dug out the bin it has been residing in and saddly the boot for my daughter's Air2 and my VyperAir have both succombed to the ravages of time/age and are nothing but broken pieces.

However, I do have 3 boots from regular Vyper computers that look like the picture below. As depicted, unlike the Vyper2, VyperAir and HelO2, the Vyper boots do not have the button flaps.

I will gladly send one to you for the cost of shipping...I am in the USA, postal code 14701 if you want to figure out an estimate.

....but to be honest, I highly recommend the bungee mounts instad of the wrist strap. The bungee cord compensates for suit compression at depth, is easier to don/doff, is overall more comfortable as the length of the bungee can be customized, and it has the button flaps:@

Here is a UK source for the a bungee mount (@ £28) that I found from a quick google search...you might be able to find one less expensive:

Let me know if you are interested in one of our Vyper boots.

Cheers,

Hi Zef,
I really appreciate you digging them out for me. I think I'll take your advice and get the Bungee Boot as it seems to be the best option in the circumstances.
It's my spare that I take on dives and for now, still works perfectly, so just trying to extend it's life :)
Happy diving,
Paul
