Looking for a place to spend 3 nights before the Dewi. Papua Paradise got some mixed reviews from people in the group we’re in

Been hunting around and came across this resort, looks to be our speed. It’s been mentioned here a few times but haven’t been able to find a report, recent or otherwise. I like the sustainability aspect of it , and they seem organized (I like the assistance with the public ferries)

Not necessarily looking to dive there as we’ll have 11 nights on the LOB, unless it’s otherwise fantastic. More looking for a place to relax and catch up on time zones

Anyone been that can give insight? Will be February 2026

If you are just looking to work off jet lag and not dive , you might want to just stay at Aston in Sorong. I am assuming you are flying in there and also boarding the Dewi there. Dealing with public ferries twice in three days and not diving at resort seems like a bit of a pain for little gain (though admittedly three nights in hotel in Sorong would be boring to most people )

We loved the Biodiversity resort! It was very relaxing and low key, and the snorkeling right in front of the bungalows was amazing. But I agree with the comment above- I wouldn't go there for just 3 days. The public ferry is chaotic and unpleasant and it takes a good amount of time to get from Sorong to the resort. We are going back next February after our liveaboard, for a week.

What were the mixed reviews about Papua Paradise? I stayed there for 5 nights before a Raja Ampat liveaboard and enjoyed it. I agree with the other commenters though that 3 nights would be too short to venture to a resort and not dive. Papua Paradise has a speed boat but it's still around a 2-3 hour ride and it only leaves once a day.

Yeah, no interest in staying 3 nights holed up in Sorong. The resort arranges and sets up all travel, and it's actually 4 days arriving Monday ret. Thursday

I might do a one off dive there, I am just not signing up for a full package as my liveaboard goes to that area anyway

No water access from the rooms, poor food, chaotic diving (even though my principal goal isn't to dive, I will probably try to get one or two in). My wife also wants something like what we did in Fiji pre-LOB, with rooms on the beach with lots of shade and direct ocean access

Haven't been obvs, but looks to me the public ferry (about 2 hours) is same or shorter than Papua boat. I know that there is an additional boat ride for Bio

Oh, Papua Paradise is also $2500 for three nights in the mid level room (not AC), plus $500 for the boat (per the net). Biodiversity is 1K cheaper in their "top" level room all in. Looks like Bio rooms aren't as nicely appointed as PP rooms, but we aren't all that precious.

We looked at all the options to get caught up with jetlag, staying a night in SIN or HKG, anything desireable around CGK (no), in Sorong (no)so started looking at resorts. Seems they are all a couple hours from Sorong or more, most have specific in/out days without exorbitant changes.

We are both interested in land tours to the extent available, and happy enough laying around 24/7 reading our books and snorkeling.

Any other recommendations, I'm all ears as we have not paid anything yet

There are direct flights from Bali to Sorong operated by Garuda 3 times a week IIRC : flies at 1AM arrives 5:50AM to Sorong.
You could also spend a couple of nights in Bali to recover from the jetlag, visit a bit, spend the day in JImbaran on the beachside, though close to the airport.

Looked at that too initially as it seems attractive in theory. Financially it didn't work out both in air and stay $, and we'd be up in Ubud if we did, so still traveling some hours.

Long story short, absent taking more time off work which is not possible, we are limited to 3 nights and there are not a lot of attractive (to us) options

I enjoyed the food and didn't find the diving chaotic. Regardless it sounds like you want a high end beach resort which you will not find in Sorong. Bali is probably your best bet for that in Indonesia!
