Totally agree with you Benny...Hi from GermanyI have been following Scubaboard for a long time, but have now registered separately to answer here. I have the DL40, a nice bright lamp. However, the cone of light is too large. I dive here in Germany in the lakes and the visibility is usually not so good and the wide cone of light with the wide corona dazzles too much (backscatter). My buddy owns the DL70 and it is even worse that he can only use the lamp at the lowest level. A small spot without corona with ~ 7 ° beam angle would be great. I would also agree to compare my current lamp with one of your test models and show the whole thing underwater with pictures. Equipment for this is available, also a lux meter to measure the actual brightness.
If you are interested in seeing your lamps in poor visibility, please contact me.
Regards
Benny
A wide spot is wonderful in clear tropical water to illuminate overangs or for video, but it is a nightmare in poor visibility conditions.
When you hardly can see your hands the best is a super narrow beam.

The best would be to have the opportunity to modify the beam angle from wide to narrow whilst diving, @Wurkkos Diving Light, did you ever consider it?
