Hi,

Is there a reason why PADI isn't listed in the section under Scuba Certification Agency Q&A either in the list under the heading or when you click on the forum and look for the sub-forum?

Thanks,

Bobby

I believe it is because they choose not to participate on ScubaBoard. Their loss.

When I saw this post, I thought I knew the answer, but I actually don't. I assumed these sites were officially linked to the agency, and I figured it would cost way too much to have dedicated employees from such a large agency answering questions.

Then I looked at threads in the SDI and SSI areas, and I saw that all the responses were not from the agency but from random ScubaBoard members. It does not appear that the SDI and SSI sites have any official connection to the agencies--or do they?

Anyway, it's a good question.

Some agencies have asked that we -not- have a Q&A for their agency. We are always happy to comply.

There is enough PADI BS to go around without an official Q&A.

Thanks for the clarification, Pete. I was on the right track but still a bit off the mark. It isn't that PADI doesn't want to participate in the Q&A as that is not required (see @boulderjohn post above), but it is that PADI has asked that you NOT have a PADI Q&A section here on ScubaBoard.

PADI is the 800 Lb. gorilla of the certification agencies. As such their presence is that which the other agencies compare themselves, for better or worse. PADI bashing is all too common, so I can see their point, and Pete's acquiescence to PADI's request to be left off the board.
