I have been looking online but I still do not see the online booking system that was good for pre-booking walk-ons weeks or months in advance back in 2018, 2019.

Any chance, it will be set back up. If it is, please let me know.

Regards,

Bruce
I responded in your other thread... I suggest you just email them for now. I understand that the site is almost ready, but I have no idea of when exactly... I know there's lots going on in the shop... Upgrades to the air system and so on.

Szilvia can be found at info@AdventureTobermory.com

Well, I suppose you're entitled to your opinion. I'm not sure what you figured she "needed" me for....

She is strong-willed and very sure of herself for sure. And in fairness, I was never a real customer... free airfills don't count

Anyway, I'm sorry you feel that way. You might consider removing your post, or at least remove the LOL, because your post isn't especially funny.
Wasn't intended to be funny. Certainly nothing funny about placing the statement on your web site that ''No Dicks'' are wanted at Diver's Den. I would certainly hate to be a staff member and be given the task of visually picking out all the ''Dicks'' from everyone else.

That's a statement made by an idiot.

"Strong willed and sure of herself'', I guess that's why she lost the business.

I extend my love to all those I communicate with (LOL). There was no love in Kelly, and the fact that she lost her business is clear evidence that.

She drove away more potential than she ever attracted.

I have a very successful business in BC, with four separate locations, and you have to accept the ''Dicks ?'', whatever that is, along with everyone else, and I know that because my bank account tells me so.

Maybe you and Kelly could start your own business, you could call it ''No Dick Dive Charters''.

Best of luck on the venture.

No further communication on this matter needed or wanted.

Rose, (As per your request, LOL exempt)

I love how you base your conclusions on what, one visit?

Incidentally, she "lost" her business for reasons completely beyond her control. You speak confidently about things you know nothing about.

And her 'no dicks" policy had to do with hiring new staff, not customers. Apparently the humour in that escaped you, which isn't all that surprising I suppose. As someone who was in her shop multiple times a week, my take is that her customers were a pretty happy bunch. She has a gift for hiring good staff. (Apparently the "no dicks" thing works...) I am aware of her firing a couple of customers. I know one shop that was banned, and they deserved it... sloppy and unsafe is being kind. I have heard (only) of some individuals being banned as well, and it was because of the way they treated her staff.

When I owned my businesses, I occasionally got rid of clients. It may have been because they were too demanding for the amount they were spending, or perhaps the way they treated my staff, or even because my Spidey Sense was triggering for some reason. It's tremendously satisfying and highly recommended.

Perhaps you could share the name of this amazing business of yours... I'd love to visit all four locations to bask in their (and your) awesomeness... EDIT: Oh wait, I take that back. I see you're a funeral director. No wonder your clients don't complain...

I don't know why your nickers are twisted over Kelly, but it must be over something truly traumatic. I hope you seek out therapy for your PTSD. Regardless, if you ever visit again you won't have to deal with her, so there's that. Feel free to look me up if you come to town. Ask anyone where I live.

Anyway, to the point of my commenting: Can somebody tell me about the diving at Tobermory? I've been interested in the location for a while now (Thanks Stan Rogers), and am curious about the diving there. It'll probably be a few years, but at some point I'd love to go up there if I could.

Probably the easiest Great Lakes diving.Good quality wrecks of varying depths and lots of boats going out everyday. You can walk on to most charters on most days.
It will get you hooked on shipwreck diving up here.

@Tracy Good to know. I haven't done many wrecks (did Sea Tiger in Hawaii, and a local scuttled sailboat dive when I was in college) but they seem like tons of fun. Might have at that to the bucket list, alongside Oriskany.

The original post in this thread was unintentionally very misleading and implied that the only dive shop had gone belly up and that there wasn't going to be a shop in town anymore. I offered my $.02 worth and it sort of got straightened out but ya, it's still kinda weird. In a nutshell, the operational side of Divers Den was sold and will be operating under new operators. Same location, some of the same staff etc. Pretty much business as usual (I hope)

The new website is Home It's still under construction, but it's getting there.

I noticed you're from NC, so the thing you'll notice first is the water temperature. It's a little cooler than NC. A drysuit is definitely preferred, but a good 7mm will work for shallower and shorter dives.

As Tracy suggested, the diving here is pretty simple. It's not too deep and there are lots of options for shallower dives. Down the road a ways, there are other deeper wrecks that are more technical, but they aren't serviced by the Tobermory shop.

If you head here, there are lots of images of wrecks, with the vast majority of them being in Tobermory. Shipwrecks! - wetspot

And if you start to get serious about coming up, feel free to hunt me down. At this point, I suspect that I've done more diving in Tobermory than pretty much anyone! ;-)

@Stoo South Carolina, actually, but in terms of temperature it's about the same. I do have a nice semi-dry I've enjoyed trying out, and was very comfortable with it and a hood on 58 and 56 degree (farenheit) dives. What's the water temp usually like in the summer? Might end up springing for a dry suit before then.

Realistically, I'm in grad school and so will likely not be able to afford such a vacation for a while, but perhaps as a graduate present to myself or after having a job for a few years. Out of curiosity, any idea what the charter and lodging costs would look like?

These are certainly some beautiful pictures you've got. Very tempting. And I appreciate the offer of advice, and I've saved your message for if I ever do get the time and the scratch to put a trip together.

It depends on the wrecks. On the shallower ones it can get into the low-60s. On the deeper ones it will be in the low- to mid-40s.

It was described to me a few years ago by a friend who dove there as "A pile of sticks". This was while we doing doing exploration and finding new wrecks near Halifax. So I guess context has to be taken into consideration

I have no desire to go there.
