I'm always a bit nervous about single points of failure when traveling to far flung locations. Some things can't be helped, like I can't really justify packing two housings or two OM-1 bodies but I'm wondering about this little gadget that connects the hotshoe to the strobe trigger. If that breaks (or gets lost), then I can't fire the strobes at all, which is kindof unfortunate. I guess I should get a spare eventually, but I'm wondering how much of a priority it is. Has anybody had one stop working on them? The not-losing-it I understand is my problem. I did read the thread about not working with certain lenses in RC mode.

I have a spare that I bring in my Save A Dive (photography) Kit. It’s good insurance because if you need it, you need it. I also have a spare o-ring for my housing, and a set for ports.

I also have a spare, but it's the 01 version that's manual only. $50 from Backscatter seemed like cheap insurance, cheaper than the extra fiber optic cable I also bring.

Yeah, I have the feeling I'm going to have to grit my teeth and drop a few hundred dollars on various bits of AOI branded plastic. Could be worse, I guess, could be Nauticam prices.

For me, I have spare o-rings for the housing and ports, and the vacuum valve. I have a spare hot shoe connector and spare vacuum cap. Other than that, I do have 2 of the 90 degree finders.

No spare vacuum pump?

In a pinch, you can revert to the flash that comes with the camera as a substitute. I also always have spare orings for everything.

There is a new compact vacuum pump that is really cheap and small. Works just as well/the same as the full size pump
