Recommended AI for February 2025

Trying to decide on AI for a February 2025 week of diving. Looking at Fiesta Americana, Occidental, and Allegro. We have diving worked out, so just trying to decide on resort. Pros and cons on the above? Thanks!

Only have experience at Allegro. Worst hotel experience of my life, checked out after one night. Would not stay there again if it was the last place on the island.

Down South AI we would only do Iberostar or Fiesta Americana (FA). Did the Occidental it was just OK (food was just OK IMHO). Iberostar has better food and FA has more better food. Iberostar dock fee for outside Dive ops is pretty high.
Allegro has some bad food reviews.

Fiesta Americana is an excellent choice for divers, as there's no pier fee to worry about. When I went diving with Cozumel Divers, they conveniently picked me up and dropped me off directly at Fiesta Americana. As a guest of the hotel, I didn’t have to pay any additional fees for this service.

We stay at FA all the time. Didn't like Occidental. Would never stay at Allegro. Iberostar is decent and has a great beach until you hit the waterline where it's all ironshore. Cozumel Palace has the best food, followed by Explorean / FA. No dock fees at FA.

I've always stayed at the Occidental. I've stayed there 3 times about 10 days or more each time. I've been very happy there. Although there are no ocean view rooms, each room is big, with a small balcony and a BIG bathroom with both a big shower and a bathtub. There are a number of three story buildings each with about 7 rooms on each floor. The building is open in the middle with a big palm tree in the middle. I like staying close to the adult pool. There are three restaurants-a seafood, a Mexican, and an Italian. I hate the seafood, but love the other two. At the buffet, most nights there is something you can get cooked fresh for dinner (stir fry, or fajita, etc.) The staff is very friendly. There is a small refrigerator stocked with beer, wine, water and soda in your room. Although the beach is small, it is all sand. I always dove with Dressel (which you can walk to ) when I stayed there. Other dive shops will pick up there. I can't offer any opinion about their dive shop. There is no single supplement for staying there. I found the food good to very good, and I am somewhat picky. The Occidental is significantly cheaper than the Iberostar, and much easier to find your way around.

We are considering our first AI trip to Cozumel and planning Fiesta Americana. But today I read that the pier is closed/not available to guests. Is this correct or old news?

Edit: FWIW I have emailed FA but no response so far.

Old news. They were open last week when we where by there. Open now for months (6 mahbe).

For a minute there, I thought you were asking for recommended artificial intelligence and almost went into a panic! Then I realized you were just asking about all-inclusive resorts. I would still recommend against them, but much less urgently. Get out, enjoy the town and the local restaurants. Whatever you do, enjoy the island! It’s a great place however you do it. Even with artificial intelligence, I suppose.
