Hi, I have a Cochran second stage regulator with a wrinkled diaphragm, 60mm diameter. Otherwise, it is in new condition. Can anyone recommend a replacement?

Scubaboard has been very, very good to me.

*Note: Personal story, not an endorsement by my employer* Silent Explorers online store had old US Divers parts, not sure if they have Cochran parts but they might be worth a try. Ron is great to work with.

Cochran never manufactured regulators themselves, but had it outsourced. I believe Coltri Sub had a similar first stage for example with their C60.

If you could post a few decent pictures, that may help identifying what second stage you have exactly. Possibly another manufacturer carries the same second stage under a different name and you get lucky with parts.

Someone found a 60-61mm diameter diaphragm but the center button area was too large of a diameter to match the inside of cover of the regulator.

Here are some pictures of what I have. The diaphragm has a step around its edge that fits a raised edge inside the regulator body. The diameter of the purge button area is 1.125" The rest of the regulator looks great, it's just the diaphragm has been become wrinkled.

You fine people on scubaboard have helped greatly with several topics!

Another odd thing about the regulator body, the exhaust diaphragm has an oval tab to retain it instead of a thin round tab.

You could get lucky checking this thread. Your second stage seems to be a Cochran Duo Pro. At the end of the thread you'll find a post connecting this second stage to the Seeman Sub SL600 or XS-Scuba SeaAir. I still suspect the same OEM manufactured all of these.

You may find a replacement part from these regulators.

Especially the SeaAir from XS-Scuba should still have parts available. The diaphragm has the part number RP250-14.

The first stage regulator that came with the Cochran second stage is a Seemann Sub SL 23. So far, searching for RG250-14 diaphragm results in "no stock," "special order."

XS Scuba says

Thank you for contacting our customer service team. Service kits and parts are currently available for the Sea Air Second Stage Regulator. The item number you provided for this particular item, Sea Air Second Stage, does not exist in our catalog. The correct part number is RP205-14.

I asked for a drawing or confirmation this is the right size diaphragm but haven't heard back yet.

In another thread, I'm working on an AL Legend second stage regulator. I see the diaphragm is kind of small and the purge button area is small, too, so I compare it to the Cochran diaphragm ... and ... it's the same. So now I'm looking for an Aqua Lung Legend second stage diaphragm.
