Hi, I have just returned from a great few days on Koh Lanta and was diving at Koh Ha (5) on the last day before it shut to give the coral a break. I recently bought new batteries and a charger for my Sealife DC1400 camera as the old ones died after not being used for 4 years !!!!

I took some good shots on the first dive, but on reaching the bottom on the second dive I noticed condensation was obscurring the screen, which is not very big.

Today on getting home I see the screen is ****ed so, long story short, I will by a better one.

Not a Canon or a mega expensive tool, just an adequate one with video, stills, and a decent size screen.

Comments please on my future expense. (Don't tell the wife :) )

I went to the sport diver case for the IPhone but for me I’m a diver that takes pictures not a photographer that dives.

Olympus TG series great all-around cameras.
Yep, thanks for that. I have been looking at them, and remember looking at the TG 5 before buying the Sealife. Can't remember why I chose the Sealife but it was the wrong decision in retrospect.
I see they have a TG7 now, but I like the TG 6 better (cheaper and does mostly the same thing).

On a positive note, my DC1400 screen has resurected itself so this is no longer a priority and I will take a bit of time to decide on the upgrade, but probably a TG6. Thanks again. :)

Yes I thought about that option too. Just a bit scared at the thought of taking my (everything) phone into peril :)

Upgrade and keep your old phone. Warm water diving( no thick gloves) I would look closer at the Dive Volk.

I tried both sealife cameras and their old strobe. The cameras were terrible. The strobe lasted 1 dive when I called for warranty they said discontinued (5 years ago and you can still buy them new) so they sold me a refurbished at a discount. Screw me twice it lasted 2 dives before flooding. I love the TG6 it is waterproof to 30Ft then put it in a housing and you are good to like 140. Add a tray and some lights as you can, and you have a really fine rig. Take the camera out of the housing and use it for a day-to-day point and shoot that fits in your pocket.

Yes, TBH I'm not that impressed with the Sealife but.........I've got it now and I'll give it another run. When I've got some spare cash (hahahahaha) I'll definitely go for a TG6 (or7). The dive leader at my favorite dive company has given me some great photos shot on a TG5 (I think). Head and shoulders above what I have shot myself with the Sealife. Manly the focus and clarity. Thanks for the comments.

I have jumped in and bought a housing, and a TG 7 is on its way :)
Would love to attach the backscatter MF 2 but at £500 it's more expensive than the camera :(

Will get some experience without a strobe for a while and save up.

PS the wife asked me how much I spent and I wouldn't tell her hahahahahaha

You can get away with a 4000 lumen dive light.
Can pick up a Chinese high lumen light for around $100.
