Hello everyone
I’ve decided I’m going for a scuba pro hydros pro for my first BCD.

I’m 5.8 and weight around 64-68kg depending on the time of year. The size chart says I abound be in the medium category.

I went and tried a medium and a small today and the dive shop have said a small is the best option. I personally felt better in a medium but the shop owner said the small looks to be a better fit.

I have come away and am unsure what route to go down , I only tried on with a T-shirt.

Unless you're going to be only doing warm water diving you need to consider that you'll be wearing either a thicker wet suit or a dry suit with it, which makes the Med sound like a better idea.

What exposure protection do you expect to use? Your bc needs to accommodate the biggest version of “you”. Before you drop that kind of money on a bc, it might be wise to try a few sizes in a pool with your exposure protection on, especially if you are new at the game

unfortunately I ordered it from him , I don’t think it is an issue as it’s late Friday so nothing will happen until Monday anyway.

I am currently only a warm water diver and wear a rash guard but I guess things could change.

When I’ve been away most recently the scuba shop hired me a small but as I say I’m borderline

You want the bc to fit well in the water and this feels different than in the air. If you really have no way to try in water, then I would go with what the dive shop says, as long as I can get arms and shoulders into it. It also helps to have someone lift the tank butt when you are wearing the bc and then see how much it rides up and how sloppy it is, but this is kinda subjective as well.

Like you're not going to build another unit for cold water anyways.

Hi Thomas with you height and weight i would recomend you to use size small BCD

Is there any difference in the length between the small and medium?

It felt that the small sat higher on my hips
