I am looking to buy my first set of scuba equipment in the next couple of months and am trying to choose between the aqualung zuma and the scubapro litehawk (these are the brands my LDS carries).

Both BCs have great ratings, but it seems that the zuma is consistently rated higher. However, my LDS recommends the Litehawk.

Here are my questions:

1) They say the Litehawk attaches to the tank better - anybody else know about this?

2) They recommend buying a Litehawk with an AIR2 in order to eliminate a hose. I was leaning toward getting the Zuma with an octopus b/c I think it makes buddy air share easier.

3) I like the idea of getting a weight integrated set. This is not available with the Litehawk. Is there a reason I should want to continue to use a weight belt?

I only have 10 dives, but am looking to get my own equipment so that I can dive more often.

Thank you for the help.

My wife recently got a Zuma, and she loves it. On her first dive with it, I stayed behind her and kept an eye on the tank just in case of slippage. The tank was solid as a rock, it didn't move. Of course, wet the band before attaching, especially when new. It's important to place the strap around the valve according to instructions. The integrated weight system works well, but it might be difficult to slip in the sleeves if you use more than 8 lbs per side. I would recommend using soft weights if you need this much lead. After all, it's designed to be a lightweight travel system.
