My wife has a Zoop. I have a Zoop Novo. About a month before our dive trip I put both in Dive mode to check the batteries. Mine said the battery was OK. Her's said it was low. So, I had hers replaced.

A couple of days before the trip I test mine again and it was OK.

On the first dive of the trip I put mine in Dive mode and it said Replace Battery. And, of course, it would not function for the rest of the trip, Fortunately, I had a backup; an Apple Watch Ultra with Oceanic+ which performed well enough.

How does a battery go from OK to needs replacing in just two days of zero use?

Had the same experience some years ago...
Since then I always carry spare batteries for the transmitters and for the dive computers for the whole family, and we always dive with a backup as well...
You never know... 😎

The cold can kill them really quick too, was it in the hold or in your hand luggage
