I've been offered a Zeagle tech BC, and was wondering if this BC can be "modified" to allow the use of a smaller wing for travel, and the set up the guy has seems to be more suited to doubles or heavy duty tech stuff then rec type diving....

My main diving intentions are to go rec, with mainly warm and temperate diving, single tank, but there may be more tech type diving further in the future as I gain experience.

For the purpose of this exercise, the BC is in great condition, is going for about $300 and it fits :) done a bit of searching, but haven't really turned up anything that answers my question...

Thanks,

Z...

Yes, it can.
Check with Scott Zeagle, who is a member of this board, to see what he recommends for your application.

To the best of my knowledge, all of the Zeagle wings are interchangeable with the harnesses, but you may want to verify this with either Scott or Larry from Scuba Toys.

Yes, they can be adapted for singles. Wing can be changed, shoulders can be changed, etc. I've travelled all over the world with mine. I dive only doubles when I'm at home, but when travelling/working I often have to dive singles. I keep a set of single cam straps with my gear when I'm travelling and can change over from singles to doubles or vice versa in about a minute.

Cheers,
Al.

Awesome, looks like a good way to go.Anyone got any ideas as to the cost of a "single tank kit" (with 35lbs -ish of lift)for this BC? I was going to go for a Brigade or Ranger, but I figure I can save some $$$ and be "future proofed" at the same time :)

To date, Zeagle doesn't manufacture a dedicated "single tank wing". But according to Scott, they are working on the development of one.

Hopefully when it hits the market it'll be a doughnut shaped wing in the 35 to 40# lift class (Hint, hint, hint, Scott !!!)

Can't wait, myself!! I have a Zeagle "Tech" also, and dive it when I'm not diving my B/P-wing setup.

Zeagle B/C's are bullet proof. I've been diving mine for over 6 years and it's holding up like a champ.

You can add a 35lb parapack single bag bladder (Part#7030, MSRP $270) or a 35lb 1000d nylon single bag bladder (Part#7030HD, MSRP $300) to a Tech BC with no problem.

Calm down, Krak, you are gonna blow a gasket...;)

Zeeman:
Would I be right in assuming those bladders you mention are the same as on the ranger or escape BC's?

Z...

You would be half right! ;)

The 35lb parapack bladder is found on the Escape BC, as well as the ScubaBoard famous Brigade BC.

The 35lb 1000b nylon bladder is a new bladder and is found only on the Stiletto.

The Ranger comes standard with a double bag 44lb bladder, which looks exactly like the only on the Tech, only smaller...
