I was thinking about buying this BC. I'm new to the diving world, but have seen good things about zeagle. I will do most of my diving from a boat here off the GA coast. I am 6'2 245lbs. In class I was using about 20lbs of weight with a 5m suit & Mares vest style BC . The pool water was around 68. I will only be diving in the summer to fall months with a single tank. Do you guys think this will work good for me. Thanks a lot for the suggestions

The Scout with 24 lbs. of lift would probably work for you given your current exposure protection (5mm wetsuit). If you ever transitioned to a drysuit, then you might need more lift to compensate for loss of drysuit buoyancy at depth (drysuit + undergarments can be more positively buoyant than the typical 5mm wetsuit). I guess that could be remedied by slapping a bigger wing on the Scout.

The Scout looks like a great, lightweight, affordable BCD that would work wonderfully for warm water diving. If money were not an issue and I had to purchase a Zeagle BCD, then I would probably just go for something with a little more lift (Escape or Ranger). Another option would be to go for a BP/W (Zeagle offers these as well, but there are many other manufacturers to consider).

There are lots of great BCDs out there. Zeagle seems to have a good customer service record.
