I am considering buying a zeagle ranger and was wondering if anybody out there that has one can tell me how they like it. Thanks!

I own a ranger and and advanced tech zeagle bcd. For recreational diving the ranger is brilliant. I've had double 85's on it and it held up well. Although zeagle list it as a heavy duty bcd alongside the "tech" gel pack bcd's I wouldn't suggest using it for anything more then recreational diving ie sinle tank or double 85's. The weight release system takes a little getting used to but it really is a brilliant little system. I would highly recommend the ranger.

I own one and have dove it a lot. It's a well built BC but it has some disadvantages if you intend to travel with it. It is heavy, around 9 lbs, it has way too much lift for many of us (45lbs) and it takes up a lot of room in a suitcase if you are traveling by air. If I were buying again, I would consider the Escape. It's basically the same BC but built with lighter material and has a smaller bladder (35lb if I remember correctly). It's less expensive as well.

I've got the Brigade and it's brilliant. Pick up the crotch strap for added stability and the yellow weight bag inserts.

Zeagle makes a great product! Our family has four Zeagle BCs. My wife and I have Rangers, our 15 year old daughter has the Zena, and our 12 year old son has an Escape. We all love them!

Can't go wrong with Zeagle. I have used the Ranger but ended up buying the Brigade from Scuabtoys.com. Also do a search here and you will find many threads about the Ranger.

It's important to note that Frenchy needs a BC that facilitates grabbing and torturing (but not eating) poor helpless sea critters. Will the ranger facilitate grabbing critters? Will it help make it easier to harm them just for the heck of it?

Isn't there some sort of BC with built in high-powered sonar to help disorient the critters and make them easier to grab and mess with them?

If you're confused, look at Frenchy's profile pic. Lovely. :11:
