A friend of mine recently purchased a new Zeagle Ranger LTD. He had been using a Zeagle Ranger, but wanted the LTD version. After using his old Ranger on a couple dives I loved. I bought the BC and have used it on 4 dives. On a recent dive a fellow diver said it looked like the straps were too short. He based this comment on the position of the inflater hose loop with the Ranger logo. The loop sits almost on top of my shoulder instead of lower on my chest. The straps still have plenty of excess webbing and the cross connect between the two straps runs right across my sternum. I went into my local dive shop to try on a large, but I had to tighten the straps to the end in order to get a good fit. Long story short, where should the inflater hose loop reside and is it critical? Thanks.

The loop on my Zena sits just below the top of my shoulder and my BC fits perfectly.

Personally, I think it's better than the loop is higher. It doesn't impede me when I want to dump air. When the loops are much lower, you can't lift your inflator hose all the way up, thus trapping a certain amount of air, which is why some folks won't use them to lash their hoses down.

The newer models have movable hose holders, but on the older ones the hose holder did sit pretty high on the shoulder. Mine is like that, and I prefer it, due to the fact that if you want to deflate the BC with the power inflator it is able to get to a high point.

Dive safe!

Thanks Scott. I like the location of the loop too, but I wanted to get some feedback. I'm not going to worry about it any more. I love the BC...great product. Thanks again.
