Greeting DIVERS im undecided in getting a halcyon wing or a zeagle, wt do u think. Wts a better all around diving bcd system?? Thanks so much.......

They're both good systems. I'm using a Halcyon 27 and I love it.

If you're thinking of a softpack system like the Ranger... well.. it's ok as well... although I'm a recent BP/wing convert, so you know what I'm going to recommend already.

Zeagle does have a new BP offering as well... if you want Zeagle.

Both BC's have their fans and it really depends on what YOU want.
The Ranger is a good BC, well built and rugged but it is a bit bulky and is a pain to pack for travel( I own one). It really has more lift than most need (45lbs). It is comfortable and very adjustable and it has an intergrated weight system. Unless you need the lift, the Escape is lighter and smaller. The Scout is even smaller/lighter and if you don't need much weight, it's also a nice BC.
Assuming you get an AL backplate to go with the Pioneer 27, they are about the same weight, but the Halycon will pack smaller. It does have the advantage of changable wings. On the other hand, it is harder to adjust, some find it uncomfortable (including me) and if you want an intergrated weight system, it's an add on. If you intend to dive double tanks, the BP/wing is the better of the 2 options.

They are both good BCs, which is for you best is largely a matter of what type of diving you do and what you like. The best advise is to rent/borrow both and see which you like best, then buy that one.

jplacson--could tell us a little more about the new Zeagle BP or give us a link....this is the first I am hearing of a new BP
from Zeagle

vindicarre--I agree, try both of them if you can since
they are totally different feels....I personally
like the BP/wings but I dive a back inflate Balance....why?....
cuz I got it for free.....once I get some dough I
will be purchasing a BP/wing combo....by then
there should be enough reviews on oxycheq, eclipse,
and venture to help me decide

Have a look at the link in my Sig for the Zeagle Metal Gear.
I have been diving the Zeagle BP and wing for 6 months and I LOVE it, super comfy and compact.
I am using the 55# dual bladder wing as I often do deep dives wet during the summer months and dry during winter. If you have any specific questions on the rig please let me know.

The Ranger is also a top BCD if you dont want a Back Plate for travel.
Zeagle also have two BC's called the Tech series that I really like, one still has intergrated weights without the bulk of the Ranger. The other is very clean without Intergrated.

A lot of people eBay their Ranger to move to a bp/wing. Not so many eBay their Halcyon rig to get a Ranger.

Just something to think about.

BTW, might want to check out the Oxycheq bp/wings..

Haha yeah. Part of the reason the camera came on that dive was so that I could see how my stuff looked underwater, which I hadn't been able to before. I need a longer primary hose, and shorter everything else. The bungee was way too long, which I shortened ;)
