Zeagle = is 100% grate BCD! really! >> the best I've tried so far

My power inflator is almost new - there is nothing wrong with it!
But I really don't like the inflator button.... it is to hard to press ...and has "uncertain feeling" when pressing.

For example at the TUSA or the Scubapro Inflator....there is a "knack" / "tick" :) feeling
when you Inflate...and it is really easy to press

Any alternatives you recommend?
And what exactly is Balanced Power Inflator ?

Any standard 1" inflator will work on the Zeagle. If you have the Zeagle inflator with the BX Connector you will loose the BX connector advantage if you switch to another inflator as it is a semi proprietary connector, Atomic uses the same connector for the SS1.

Zeagle inflators also have a pin at the top of the inflator itself that connects to a cable that runs up thru the hose and activates the inflator shoulder dump.

It's a pretty accurate travel distance so that you're pulling the cable and not over-stretching the corrugated hose - which probably wouldn't work to vent anyway.

So you might lose that function if you change inflators.

They drill a hole thru the end of the inflator and press the pin in - it goes across the diameter of the opening. It's what the small loop on the end of this cable slips over. The hose captures it - it's actually under the zip ties.

Good marketing...? It probably refers to how smoothly the inflation works when you press the button. There might be some feature designed into the inflator itself to help with that. Maybe they buffer the air from the inflator valve somehow?

Zeagle's inflator, unlike most others, uses a Schrader valve. It's easier to service in the field and the screw on/screw off attachment makes adding an SS1 or just rinsing the bladder out easy. If you hate it, though, just buy a new inflator of the type you like and replace the Zeagle BX with that.

As noted above, make sure you connect the pull dump cable to the new inflator (most generic inflators I've seen have holes and a cross bar included for that purpose), if you decide to keep the pull dump.

THX all for advices :)

My problem with the zeagle is not the quality... but the buttons mechanism....it is to stiff

So I'm looking for a "top grade" alternative.... - any suggestions? from your experience ?

For example the "Scubapro Balanced Power Inflator" Or Any Other Brands?
I also heard that TUSA also are great with inflator heads....etc.

BTW
what is the BX mean exactly ?
and what is the meaning of "Balanced Inflator"?

THX!

BX is whatever Zeagle decided to call it. Balanced inflator is meaningless marketing crap.

Just buy one of these and be done with it: https://www.divegearexpress.com/bcs/bcdparts.shtml

There's no need to worry about "top grade" with this kind of thing unless you want an octo-inflator like an Atomic Aquatics SS1...then quality matters more, because it's a more complex piece of equipment you'll be breathing off. But for simple BCD inflation, any old thing will do it. When it finally starts to stick or leak or whatever, buy another $15 wonder and replace.

Bx is the name given by Zeagle to their optional inflator that unscrews so you can flush your bladder with a standard garden hose. Although I think most new Zeagle BCD's come with it standard now.

Is there a reason or public demand to have this feature as opposed to just pressing the button to allow water to flow freely into the bladder? Seems gimmicky to me unless I've been unwittingly causing irreparable damage to my bladder and Air2 doing it the other way.

The Zeagle fitting is good if you want to just screw a hose onto the thing and power-flush the entire bladder/all the OPVs at once, and it works seamlessly with the excellent Atomic SS1 (lets you screw it off and keep the SS1 with your regs, which seems safer). But there's nothing super awesome about it as a regular ol' inflator.

You should try this one. It looks amazzzzing. Such a greeeeeaaaattt idea for divers, everyone should have 3 in their kit. Definitely use this inflator instead, you'll be totally safe and I'm sure only be unwantedly rocketed to the surface every few dives. Make sure your DAN policy is paid up, and it's a great idea!
