I think the "three" straps are the cam, quick release and a third lightweight adjustable strap - I use the latter to quicky position the BC and tank - adjust the length of the strap so that it becomes tight when the strap is slipped over the tank valve and pulled tight as the BC is pulled down to the correct position on the tank. FWIW, I replaced the quick release strap with a regular camband threaded through the next lower web slots on the back, allows keeping the BC a bit "higher" on the tank to keep the valve away from the back of head. The second band also keeps the tank steadier and reduces, IMHO, the possibility of slippage.

Good diving,

Bill

that third strap is very thin.
Someone told me that it is the carry strap for when the tank is not in the BC.

Has anyone ever sown a retractor on to the shoulder strap?
My right shoulder strap has a black webed nylon that I would really love to sow a retractor onto. It would be up high enough on my shoulder to get my guage/computer tight against my body, but the retractor has more then enough length to pull it to arms length.

thank you for your time and have a good day

How do any of you who own the Escape have it configured with the "rip-cord" weight system? How do you like it?
