My problem with the quick releases isn't really because it's a failure point. I don't like them because they interfere with where I like to put my backup lights. I snap them to the shoulder d-ring and band them down to the shoulder strap so they sit under my arm. I also don't care for where Zeagle puts the d-rings on the bc's (I don't remember what the new harness looks like). They give more than you need but, for me, they're all in the wrong place.

You're right about the rear dump. If the wing is tied down it might be hard to use. I've never actually tried it on the Zeagle.

Mike what are you talking about ?
On the Zeagle BP&W with both the standard and Deluxe harness you can slide the Drings to anywhere you want ?

The Zeagle wings are NOT tied down ?

May I suggest you go try one ;)

Try one? I own many Zeagle wings and have been a dealer for about four years now and own one of their back plates with the continuous harness.

Perhaps I wasn't clear.

I states that I didn't remember what the new harness (delux) lookes like. The ring position problem, for me, is on ALL their bc's and a quick release on a shoulder strap gets in the way of where I stow my backup lights.

Tied down wings...

The plate has screw holes so the same wings used on the Ranger, tech and Teck-Pak can be secured by the little plastic things on the wing. I call this tied down as apposed to a wing that is attached by the bolt holes. On the Zeagle bc's there is an additional clip to hold the wing down which prevents the wing from flopping up when used with a single tank. I prefer to use a wing that is sized for a single tank from the start rather than try to use one wing for both.

When a wing is attached by the tank band bolts, the bladder can wrap up around the tanks (a good thing if the wing's size and shape matches the application). With a single tank I prefer to have the wing sized for such with the wing attached by the cam bands or the STA bolts. The Zeagle wings, being wide enough for doubles, don't work well with a single tank unless they're held down (and they are). A compromise, at best.

Was this clearer? If not, feel free to ask questions or even make more suggest. LOL

You can affix the Zeagle wings in one of two ways either the traditional way by threading tape through the Backplate slots under the tank, these straps can be supplied with the Wing.

Or you can bolt the wing to the backplate as you have described

The reason Zeagle gives you the option is so all their wings fit all their BCD's and the Backplates.

Also Zeagle have fixed the sticking issue with their inflators that you mention. If the inflator has a red Z sticker then it needs the upgrade, any Inflator with a white Z sticker has had the upgrade installed.
