Hi all,

I've not posted much - but I've done a lot of research on here!

I've been diving for a couple of years and the basic gear: fins, mask, suit, computer and the likes....

I'm looking to buy a BCD and I've looked into many different options.

I've swung back and forward between BP/W and the jacket - i'm not going to raise that discussion as i've seen there's quite a bit of it.

Prices of gear in Australia are crazy compared to the U.S, U.K and more than likely most parts of the world!

I'm swaying towards the BP/W - and I've read quite a bit on the halcyon eclipse - which is an option.

The other option at this point is the standard Zeagle BP/W with the integrated weight system. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this?

There is also the Deluxe version which I think has adjustable shoulders - I don't know too much about this one - so any input on this would also be appreciated.

I have searched for info on this - but i've been unlucky so far - so if this does exist - a pointer in the right direction would be good!

So, the Halcyon and the Zeagle are the 2 BP/W's that I'm currently looking at....

Thanks in adv. for any replies.

p.s i'm no tech head by any means - just after a streamline rig that I can grow into and expand to twins down the line.... i'm mainly just a rec diver around Sydney areas with the odd bit of travel (another reason for the BP/W)

My primary rig is the Zeagle backplate.
My wing is the 50lb manta.
This wing will lift my double 100s and a deco bottle with no problem.
The wing can attach around the outer edge of the plate or the center.
This keeps the wing under control when using a single tank.
You might find the Manta a bit big if you are mainly using a single tank.
I would shoot for a 44 lb or so lift wing until you go doubles then you can upgrade.

I attach the weight system only if im using a aluminum single tank or a single steel 100 with a dry suit. Remember the plate is already 5 lbs. Add a steel tank and most people are ok.

I did switch to the deluxe harness after I found the standard strap a little uncomfortable around my shoulders. They do add a little clutter to your chest area but it is more than manageable. I'll never go back to the standard harness.

Thanks gibby - much appreciated.
