the YS01 and YS02 doesn't use sync cord, but uses fiber optic cable instead. Any strobe when used with a diffuser, would be able to get relatively wide angle coverage.

Oops I meant fiber optic cable. I would disagree on that statement. Plenty of strobes only cover 80-90 even with a diffuser and make edges look really dark when you have a lens with 100+ degrees

I use 2 YS-01 (always in manual), has no problem with Pany 7-14mm.
Here an example (at 7mm) w/ 2 strobes

I don't think 1 YS-01 will cater 7 mm.

If you are inches from the subject, then pulling your strobe back will increase the coverage significantly. But if are trying to light up a 5 ft wide subject from 3 ft away, pulling back might not do.

i am watching closely this strobe for the xz1 but i am curious if the extra 200 dollars for the inons s-2000 is worth it in order to have sttl...

sttl, TTL, in general, is effective for medium to macro shots or just shooting "on the fly". It seems to struggle with WA shooting. Sweeping generalization coming, lol, but....most move away from shooting TTL and start shooting in Manual as they gain experience and look to do more creative things with their lighting. The YS 02 or 01 are great pairings with the XZ1.
