For those who took a dip in anilao what's the latest? How was your dive :06:

Pao/Jag, how much ba dyan in portulano/balai? If we dive in, say sepok, kirby's or mainit, is there an extra boat charge because of the distance from the resort?

from Anilao this weekend. Saturday the entire day was calm seas

sunday as expected the waves started to pick up. luckily we palnned to leave the resort before lunch. :D

Sa dive, eto hawak ko yun draft ng portulano dive site map (house reef). gagawin palang and it needs some verification (another dive to check it's veracity) the catch is i dive maybe sometime in august pa. so wala pa yun map. hmmmm, there is a partial map that i perhaps can send.

eto na,

see attached partial map, prepared by DM trainee .

the Rock (with X mark) compilation of bamboo poles (retrived from a former tuna trap) is a hang out place for juvenile yellow tail barracudas, batfish, snapper, banner fishes, soldier fishes

there is a shy moray eel at the top of the rock, a good number of cleaner shrimps can me found at the crevice on the east side of the rock (70ft)

the base of the rock would be around 100 ft.(deep end).

At the 120ft area occasional sting ray and octopus.

Normally there is a slight current from the left to right flow.

Rating : easy dive for advanced divers.

Pao, di ba mukhang basag basag or coral patches na lang natitira sa map? I do hope more arti reefs be placed. And wouldnt that "40 fins" distance over sand area be boring? Hitting the right drift can shorten the distance easily but the usual current flow from left to right might be a problem when it goes from mild to medium. A diver might use up a lot of gas not enough for the return trip. Can you clarify a bit?

NO the reef area is covered by corals. i just placed those few as landmarks.

for experienced , yes it may be boring but it is a short 40 fin cycles.

what we do at times is sweep out to 70ft. then turn a hard right at sand area (70ft) and the approach would be from the deeper end of the rock. with this approach the fishes are unaware of divers approaching than coming from the top.

if there is current , yes a less experienced diver amy use up alot of air. but for those experienced. after hanging around the rock at 80ft you could still complete a dive through the other end of the house reef (there's another rock there with something special :) )

on the other side there are more artificial reefs at 80ft up to 100ft. they number around 25 pieces on the sandy area.

ano kaya un special :ghost: ?

Don't get me wrong, I dive to relieve me of stress from my work (experience secondary). That is why it might get boring if I see only a sandy area. I always want quality time that is to see "a riot of underwater colors" and "prolific fish life". That's what I get every time I dive bahura or kirby's or sepok for that matter. Mainit is special for pelagics.

I've had my share of "supot" :sleeping_ dives sites pards. Lets see that "special" in September ;) .

Here is my number 09173002087. Paolov you might be interested in placing some igloo like structures at portulano house reef. I and a diver friend made some prototypes of the igloos (it looks like a golf ball cut into half with holes instead of the depressions). We already did the costing and a one reef ball measuring 3 metres in radius cost around P800. I am suppose to make a few of this and sink it at aquaventure house reef to test it.

I got the design when I visited Gen San city and went diving with a SBer also. "partridge".

basic charge is 3100 overnight with food + 4 dives, tanks, weights, DM... this basically assumes that there's at least 5 of you in the boat...

alam ko if the dives are not all far pwedeng pumasok sa package pero if they're all far dives baka may konting dagdag... give me a rough itenerary i'll ask booking kung magkano talaga... maraming combo e at mas alam nila ang rates

Jag

PS
since there looks to be at least 7 of us going (more or less) i will try to swing some discount for our group
