...a sideways question on batteries...

Long time ago I purchased a Halcyon HID light, and it uses NiMH batteries, with a fully charged voltage of over 13V.

I am wondering about replacing the battery pack with a Li-ion pack (plus dedicated li-ion charger), which would give me a much longer working time, but am wondering if the 11.1 volt of the Li-ion pack would be too low to drive the HID ?

Anyone has any experience/knowledge on this -- HID with Li-ion ? does it work ?
