I'm in total agreement with MXRACER19, the quality of the hammerhead for the price is unreal, plus the adjustability of the Transplate harness is so sweet.

I'm very happy with my OMS SS BP with a Deluxe harrness and a 45# bungied wing, some people trash these rigs, but to me they work great.

Also a big fan of Dive Rite gear and Oxycheq seems like a good alternative.

Halcyon just don't seems to get to me (got the DIR aura and chip on the shoulder), but I got their life raft among my gear.

I've heard many good things about Hammerhead and the model is awesome, I'm considering buying one for my girlfriend as soon she certifies.

All in all, a BP is just a big chunk of metal or Plastic and not much can go wrong with it.

I think you made a good decision switching to a BP/W setup and won't be disapointed with the end result.

You just need to decide what wing you need, 'cause seems you need a SS BP to shave some weight of your belt.

For single tank use, you don't need more than 35# lift but if going for doubles some time, nothing less from 45# is mandatory, that's why I got the 45# bladder, to have a good all around rig that can be used with singles and doubles when the time comes.

For deco bottles or slinging extra gas, then I'll let the experts advise on the bladder size.

Enjoy your new rig and welcome to the BP/W brotherhood!!!!!!

>>this is a nice single-tank set up:

>>1. DR Venture wing
>>2. DR aluminum bp (or steel if you need the weight)
>>3. regular harness (no shoulder pads, no quick disconnect) made out of a single
>>piece of webbing.
>>4. crotch strap
>>5. single-tank adaptor

I am also looking at shedding my bc...what about using the Trans-pac harness instead of the backplate/harness? I was at OceanFest and talked to both the Dive Rite reps and the OMS reps. Is there any consensus preferring Dive Rite over OMS? My diving is warm water, single tank. I will be in Cozumel in a few weeks using steel 100's; I assume the Venture wing would be sufficient? Thanks in advance.
