I need to quickly find out the swim test requirement for YMCA certification in Rescue Diving.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks!

It's identical to the OW swim test. 300 yds without stopping and no push offs, no time limit. 50 feet underwater - no pushoff. 15 minute float - the instructor has the option of breaking the float into segments. I require 5 minutes treading, 5 minutes drown proofing and 5 minutes floating. If I have a sinker, I'll split the entire 15 minutes between treading and drown proofing.

BTW, it's not "Rescue" it's SCUBA Lifesaving and Accident Management AKA SLAM.

On behalf of sinkers everywhere, I thank you. I almost flunked my original SSI OW on the first pool night twen... a long time ago, because I couldn't float worth a darn. (At the time, I almost couldn't drownproof either, though I'm a little more floaty now.)
