Instead of just asking "what's the stupidest thing I can do diving?" Thought it might be entertaining if those who don't mind laughing at themselves, share what the stupidiest thing they've ever done diving is. Any takers?

Got to the back of the boat ready to splash and realized I was wearing my sunglasses. Mask was still dangling on my second tank. duh!

Left my wallet in my pocket for one dive then shortly thereafter lost key to locker containining wallet, clothes etc during a shore dive. The key was later found by my son who was chasing fish through the shallows with his mask and snorkel.I was informed that it would be $ 300.00 to break into and then replace the integrated lock on these "special" lockers. Phew!!!

PF - I actually jumped in with sunglasses on, what a wally I felt... "do you think somebody could pass me my mask please???"

Freds :coffee:

1- boat diving locked my bag before i jumped lost the key had to let the captin on board melt the lock with some acid and then with some hard banging quite a show for ppl.

2- Different boat me and the DM (nice looking chick) I use a backplate with a 1 pc harness on the platform just before the jumpin body check and haaaa noo wait."U need weights to dive" forget my weight belt that goes over the harness.

Well still more to come

Taking photos on a dive in Key Largo when my partner started frantically pointing at a nearby area. I didn't see anything to take photos of, but he wouldn't stop with the gesturing so I finally swam over to the spot and reached for my $700 camera to take a photo of whatever it was he was so excited about. Then I realized I no longer had my camera. It had slipped off the wrist lanyard and was lying on the bottom, and was the object my buddy had been pointing to.

Did a 100ft dive with no weights(AL80, 3/2 wetsuit)....stayed for a few minutes then politely went up. Finished my safety stop...upside down. Didn't tell anywone I forgot my weights....lol

#1- startet to descend (appx 10 ft)and felt moisture in my drysuit,so i surfaced to see if the zipper was zipped all the way,it looked o.k.,pulled it down all the way hard to make sure and descended again. made it to appx 15 ft when the squeeze and water coming let me know what the problem was, i didn't hook up the drysuit hose !!DUHH!!
#2 rented a car and took off beach diving in Kona , got to city of refuge (appx 50 miles from car rental place) and locked my keys in the trunk !!! before i took my gear out !!(a couple of locals saved the day by breaking into the car with a coat hanger !!)

climbed on the wrong boat. Took quite a while to realize it.
