Going to yellowstone National Park for Labor Day. Has anyone dove Yellowstone and how is temp/vis this time of year?

Diving in Yellowstone has been highlighed on the Travel channel before. I don't know if they allow regular divers to dive there or not, but the dives they had on the tv show highlighted some of the old objects sunk in the lake. An old large ferry/cruiser ship, old cars, old wagons, etc.

DIving Yellowstone Lake can be great. Towards Labor day the water has warmed a bit and sometimes there will be an algee bloom. this can make it a little green. but vis isn't to bad 15-30' range. The thing that will effect vis the most is the wave action against the shore from wind. The park service prefers you check in at one of the marina's and let them know where you will be diving. They are a little cautious about divers in the water. It is a high alttitude and cold water dive. Make sure and adjust accordingly. Elevation 8000' water temp 55-35F depending on depth and time of year.
