To add insult to injury....funny story...
I received an e-mail today from a guy in our Tokyo office responding to something I had asked him for. At the bottom of the e-mail was the following (his English is average):
"PS. Happy for you for Redsox......... That was amazing!!!"
I know he follows baseball, because when I interviewed him a few months ago here in Boston, we spent time talking about Matsui and Ichiro.
Apparently he was reading a Japanese web site that had initially reported that the Red Sox had won game 7 -- thus the comment in his e-mail. He called me at 12:30PM today (1:30 AM Saturday Tokyo time), apologizing profusely for his "grave mistake"......
I think it was just a cruel joke, since he may in fact be a Yankee fan given that Matsui plays for the Yankees...

As I recall, the last time the Yankees got too cocky, they got bit by a swarm of Diamondbacks....LOL
