Buddy has a client new to OW looking for a XXXL BCD if there are any out there, I may suggest a BP/W with a harness.......any thoughts?

+1 for the BP/W

BP/W + harness would give you the full range of adjust-ability you may be looking for.

Seriously...???!!! Unless he's over 8 feet tall... Someone that overweight should NOT be in the water at all let alone scuba diving. Key word(s) of the day: IMMERSION PULMONARY EDEMA!!! That's just for starters. And then all the cardio valscular complications...

I suggest losing weight first.

Oh, unless he's a body builder, then that's alright... Just lay off the steriods...

Sizing is sometimes misleading and differs between manufacturers. I wear an Oceanic Probe in xxl. I'm a big guy and overweight too (but working on it and haven't died in the water yet, thank you very much), and the BC fits me with a little room to grow. Chest size is 56" and wear an Akona 4XL wetsuit.

Otherwise, harness and plate setup would be the way to go.

SeaSoft Pro BC size big, fits 220 to 475, with 50lbs of lift will be able to carry the weight of the tank and lead. Great BC. I am a big guy and wear one. It is hyper adjustable. My dive buddy is within all the medical limits for height and size and wears the same BC. Check out their web site.

backplate...

It seems like it would be a bit hard to suggest specifics without knowing why the diver is an XXXL. I mean is he or she really tall? Short and wide? Long waisted? Some other combination?

I think just about any big guy can wear an Oceanic Probe XXL BC. I am about 260 and it is almost too large.

Don't worry the BP/wing crowd will jump in now. They seem driven to mount a conversion effort when someone asks about a large BC.
