Does anyone have any pictures they can upload of the XS Scuba Pockets mounted on the cam bands? I am really having a hard time getting them situated on the cam bands of by back plate. My idea was to either put one on each cam band or two on the top. I have the DSS medium back plate and standard cam bands. I'm having the following problems:

1. If I put one on each band, how do I center it on the tank? The cam band buckle is preventing me from being able to center them on the tank. They are off to the left and that will throw off my trim.

2. If I put two on the top and push them up against the BP, one of the left and one on the right, the one on the right is blocking most of the velcro and preventing me from securing the cam band strap.

I'm pretty sure I'm just having a Daahhhh moment. I have alot of those. I'm a "knowledge" worker (Yeah, right! That just means I don't really work for a living.) and tend to not be very mechanically inclined. I can't really figure out how these are supposed to be situated.

Can anyone offer any helpful suggestions?

Divin Hoosier,

I don't have any pics unfortunatley, but I use the XS scuba pockets on my back inflate bc, I had to slide the cam buckles a long way left around the tank (almost against the other pocket) so that I could get most of the velcro to make contact. It's not the best solution as I still have a fold in the velcro area, but it seems to work. Anyone else with a better solution?

I really like the pockets as opposed to the old solution of wrapping a weightbelt around the tank.

I put mine on the non-buckle side of the cam bands.

To center them, I took off the bottom band and flipped it over, so that one buckle is on the left of the tank, and the other is on the right. This at least gets the weights on either side of my centerline, with one pocket on the right side, and the other on the left.

I don't have any pictures, but it was fairly straight-forward. Since the cam bands never are fully undone, I don't have issues with the pockets sliding off.

Has worked great so far.

I have two. They sit against the plate on the upper camband. The one on the non-buckle side does interfere with the velcro to a minor degree. I just haven't worried about it.

If I remember correctly, you also use the DSS plate. Am I correct, close, or wrong all together? Are your tanks 7.25" or 8" tanks?

I put them both on the upper cam band last light and the right one seemed to interfere quite a bit with the velcro. However, I possibly didn't have the buckle pushed over to the left as far as possible ... over against the weight pocket on the left.

I ran into the same problem with the XS. I took 'em off. I haven't played with them much since then but it looked like a little surgery might be required.

I haven't tried this but it looks like my Halcyon trim pockets might work better. They aren't quite so wide and the loop that the camband goes thru is loose enough that I can slide the camband buckle closer to the pocket allowing the velcro side a bit more room.

Yea, but Halcyon = $$$$$. I'd really like to get the XS pockets to work, if at all possible.

If you can figure a way to get the cam band all the way thru the loop of the pocket so that the buckle is right up next to the pocket on the right, then the velcro should be able to close without hitting the pocket on the left. Maybe, you could stretch out the loop of the XS pocket a little or maybe it is just a matter of using a bit more elbow grease to get the loop over the double-thickness, sewn-over area of the cam band.

I have an Oxycheq plate and the DSS wing and I'm not sure whose cambands (bought the entire rig used). If I made the effort to get the buckle all the way over to the pocket next to the plate, I'm sure I could use the Velcro without difficulty. I should say, though, that I'm not using the XS Scuba pockets, but Trident pockets. I haven't worried about it that much -- I just tuck the excess cam band behind the weight pocket (which leaves it bent a little). I figure the only risk is catching the end on something that would pull it and un-cam the buckle, and that's highly unlikely if the end is tucked under anything at all.
