I am new to diving and am looking for an affordable wrist computer and have 2 in mine and would love some opinions on which one is best!
#1 Oceanic Veo 180
#2 Mares Nemo Sport Dive Computer - Dive Watch

Both are about the same price just not sure which is better for me!

Thanks,
Ridinghog

well, im sure alot of people asked the same question.
no one can tell you "whats the best for you" . to be honest with you, i did alot of search and gone with mares nemo sport. however, you may not like it because we're definately not the same person.
im pretty happy with nemo , even though my wife makes fun of it all the time cuz its not "style" yeah she's a fashion person.

the only advice i can give you is, check out their manuals.
Mares - just add water
this is the link for mare's manual, check it out , read them both , then decide.
good luck ^^

MeanGuy is spot on. Most will shout at you to get a Vyper blah blah blah.
I got a Uwatec Aladin prime as a first computer from Ebay for just 50 bucks.
It was fine for a few years till I decided what I really needed and had tried a few and hated or loved them. Most people will suggest a computer as "The best" but have only used that model!
There is a bloke on here (and I am sure he will post on this thread shortly) with a computer search program that is quite good.
Good luck.

I use a Mares puck. It's as basic as it gets, easy to read display, single big button operation, and dirt cheap.

Does nitrox etc.

Hard to go wrong.

I own the Mares Nemo Sport as well as the Aeries RS-1NX (similar to 180 and same parent co). I like them both. I just recently bought the nemo and like that is much smaller and can be worn like a normal watch and pretty much forgotten about until you dive. The other is too large to wear when out of the water. The Mares has a backlight (push button) and store nearly 5 times as many dives as my Aeris (probably the 180 too). Also the Mares log mode shows average depth which my aeris does not. I like them both, but after having bought the mares as a backup, it has quickly become my primary. It also allows PC interface though I have not purchased usb dock yet. The mares also has audible alarms - but is very sensitive on the ascent (I can probably adjust that).

Anyway - that's my two cents.

I'm the proud owner of a puck myself. Do you have any idea what audible alarms it sounds?
I only heard the (to fast) ascent. But i hope it sounds with the max Depth (PPo2) also..

#2 Mares Nemo Sport Dive Computer - Dive Watch

Hi,
are you looking for a wrist dive computer or a watch dive computer?
The Veo180 is a wrist dive computer while the Nemo Sport is a watch dive computer.

With our Dive Computer Research Tool you can compare 37 wrist dive computers and 15 watch dive computers.

For some of them we have videos too so you can see them in action :D
