I have been to Aruba many times and know that Aruba is very close to Venezuela, my question is are there any major wrecks or wrecks at all closer to Venezuela. Not that it would be safe to dive there, but I wonder every summer when I am in Aruba if there are wrecks that I haven't seen.

No very many wrecks around Venezuela´s coast. The largest one I know is the Carmen Fabiana. Its about 80 meters long, rests at 35 meters and was sunk on purpose by divers about 5 years ago, at Bahia Guabinas. You got to contact La tienda de Buceo, LDS at Valencia, to dive this wreck. Another one, a tug boat, 30 mts, long is sitting at 30 meters, close to Caracas beaches. And contrary to your opinion, is safe to dive in Venezuela.
