wrecks,caves, fossils???

I will be attending a family gathering in Charleston SC mid may 2006. During that time I will want to dive somewhere. So my options seem to be, do some off-shore wrecks out of Charleston or maybe north to NC, hunt for meg teeth in the river, or go to Florida and see some caves.
Anyone tell me how long a drive to Ginnie Springs? What is good to see around Charleston?

3 1/2 hours from Gainesville to Charlston SC? How fast do you drive? Isn't it more like 5 1/2 -6?
