Anybody feel adventureous enough to go look for a lost schooner? Here is an article out of todays Press Democrat. I'll bet if we got some people together, we could find it.

Shipwreck

My dive buddy's sister just graduated from the lab, otherwise I think we could have got in.

Oh well, I missed the part about it being protected. I wonder how far out the preserve streches.

edit: answered my own question. The land around the area is protected, the cove is theirs, but the waters outside are open. It would only be accessible by boat and a possible location is along the outside of the reef that protects the cove. Probably more trouble than its worth, but interesting.

I heard my name being called telepathically.
Hey, did you know I have a dive boat and I also just happen to be working at Spud Point Marina, oh, 5 - 7 days a week now?

Gary Wilson is getting hooked up with the marine lab to become a diver for them.
I think he will be allowed to dive in that cove.

I'll bet though that a case of that china was dropped in the water somewhere near shore as it was being off loaded and that's why they're finding the small broken pieces of only china. I think it would be hard for the china to make it's way out of the holds of a ship and onto shore from a sunken ship somewhere off shore. Why wouldn't there be other stuff washing up too? I find it hard to believe that wave action and surge would be that selective.

I hope you're ready for the 24th.

I was wondering how long it would take to get your attention ;-)

Your hypothosis makes sense, but if it were a wooden ship that was ripped in two, its contents would spill out onto the ocean floor. The wooden sections would have rotted by now and other lighter materials might have finished washing a shore decades ago. The most likely remains would be the boiler, anchors, ships bell, etc.

Counting the days to the 24th Big Brother!

Isn't china (ming dynasty, no less) all that turns up from San Augustin, the Manila
Galleon in Drakes Bay?

Yes, I think the same could be happening here.
