I just got back from Pattaya and dove the Khram with Mermaid's Dive School. We got lucky as the vis was 10 meters. This was a former WWII US navy transport ship the Thai navy bought. It was sunk in 2003. It was a bit weird diving a navy ship on veterans day.
Although a good couple of dives I don't think it would be worth a detour while on a short vacation. I would stay in Phuket longer and consider Koh Phi Phi. I chose Pattaya as it is a short trip from Bangkok.
