MV San Juan - Liloan Cebu

The MV San Juan is a classic shipwreck, a large ferry that has sunk in relatively undamaged condition. It's surrounded by abundant marine life and is truly an exciting, and due to the depths involved, challenging dive.

The ship sunk in bad weather in the year 2000. There was an explosion and the water pumps didn’t work properly. It went down with tremendous noise as the air was pushed out of the ship. Now It rests at the bottom of a bay in 50m of water on its starboard side. Nobody was hurt in this maritime disaster; the crew swam safely to the shore. Until now, only very few divers entered the wreck, it is nearly in virgin condition.

We conduct regular dive expeditons to the wreck which is only 45 minutes away by boat from our dive center. Day Trip includes 2 dives, back 2 back with lunch. This dive site is only for advanced and experienced divers, a heaven for tec divers.

about 2 weeks ago the buoy of this wreck got detached, we tried to find it but with no avail, does anyone have the coordinates of this wreck?

Latest update. Buoys are back. The ship now lies upright after Storm Odette (before it lay on its starboard side). Roof of the bridge blown off. The Liloan local govt collects Php100 per diver per dive.
