I have a Canon G15 which I loved (and a G16 I love even more). My wife has been using the G15 the past couple of years but some of the little tiny O-rings have begun to weep at depth (<100ft). I would like to replace all the O-rings and I have seen a fair amount of traffic here about O-rings, choosing the right durometer, sources, and so on. My LDS is willing to help, as they repair just about anything, but acknowledge that finding the right O-rings is the hard part. I searched for this several years ago and learned that Canon appears unwilling to divulge the specs on the O-rings, so it's off to the guesstimator for me.
Another point: My G16 is in an Ikelite housing and they are very clear in the instructions that if you pull off an e-clip, you must replace it. I know they are small and fragile and many people have fat fingers and are uncautious, but can anyone confirm this? Somehow I think getting replacement e-clips will be much easier though.

Thanks!

I tried real hard to get a service kit for a Canon OEM housing. In the end I was told those housings were not intended to be serviceable as the cost of the kit and servicing exceeded the cost of the housing. I wanted to do it myself. I was able to get the rear case O-ring. Mine weeped water from the beginning. I found on one such housing some flashing from the mold that had not been removed compromising the sealing surface. These OEM cases are really meant for casual use and that you got as much life as you have is amazing.

The O-ring Store and McMaster-Carr are where I would begin looking for the O-rings and clips and springs. Good luck.

Oh, I am sure Ikelite or one of the UW photo stores (Reef Photo, B&H, Blue Water, Back Scatter) can help with the Ikelite and possibly with the Canon case (maybe they can order service kits).
